The I-O 5450e is a three port, multi-protocol print server. It combines the functionality of a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet print server with the reliablility of full-function IBM AS/400-iSeries or zSeries-Mainframe printing. It offers unparalleled printing control using SNA or TCP/IP. The I-O 5450e allows LAN printing from Windows, Novell, OS/2, or Unix platforms as well as natively from an IBM Host.
The I-O 5450e attaches up to three printers (2 parallel, 1 serial) directly to a 10 or 100 Mbps Ethernet LAN, and supports multiple protocols including SNA, TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and NetBIOS. This support allows the I-O 5450e to be used with a variety of operating systems including Windows NT, 95, 98, Novell 3.x, 4.x, 5.x, OS/2, Unix, OS/400, and OS/390. The I-O 5450e also supports three simultaneous IBM printer sessions featuring I-O’s field-proven IBM printer emulations. Combined, these unique characteristics enable users to share multiple printer resources - even when several different operating systems are in use.
